Martha Monaghan

Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical

Prior to receiving my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning in 1989, I worked as a teacher and then a guidance counselor. I have a BA in Education and a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Guidance. After 45 years in education, I retired two years ago.

When I first received my professional license in Social Work, I was employed by Good Shepherd Center in Halethorpe. At that time it was a residential treatment center for adolescent girls. After a few years I returned to education full time and began to work part time in the field of Social Work/Therapy.

I work primarily with individuals, male and female, from the age of 11 and older. I see my role as one of helping my clients find, affirm and utilize their strengths in ways they may not have recognized were possible.
