Nicole Hughes, LCSW-C

Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than ten years of experience providing counseling to children, adolescents, and young adults. I believe that we all have the capacity for great healing and growth. Therapy provides the non-judgmental space where one can explore their unique struggles, innate strengths and get back on their path to fulfillment. My hope is that my clients leave my office feeling heard, understood and gently challenged.

I utilize an integrative approach that incorporates client-centered, mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed counseling. When working with children (and adults too!), I incorporate expressive and creative modalities into treatment including play therapy, art therapy, and sand tray therapy. My clinical interests include child and adolescent psychotherapy, group therapy, trauma and attachment healing, anxiety, depression and grief work.

I earned my Master’s of Social Work degree in 2009 from Tulane University. I’m passionate about serving marginalized, at-risk, and disadvantaged populations. Following graduation, I provided trauma-informed counseling to children and teens in post-Katrina New Orleans. I have experience in a variety of settings including public schools, outpatient clinics, and telehealth. I see children as young as 4 years old and adults up to age 35.
