Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor / Pronouns: She/Her

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Maryland. I have a Masters in Counseling and am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have experience working in schools and community mental health clinics, with a passion for helping children and families. My approach to therapy is integrated and collaborative. I believe the key to positive change is the relationship I form with my clients. I strive to understand each client’s unique challenges and thinking, and I help people to increase their understanding, language, and insights into themselves and their lives. As a team, a key goal is to empower the client in order to improve his/her life. I am informed by psychodynamic, gestalt, humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches; having this integrated approach gives me the opportunity to use different methods to help create change for each uniquely different client. With children, I use family systems conceptualization and believe no sustainable change can happen without a involving all important people to support the child in his/her natural environment. I work with children individually, in family sessions, and groups. I frequently incorporate play, expressive art, sand tray therapy into my therapeutic work. To many people’s surprise, adults, teens and children all benefit from and enjoy sand and expressive artwork. I keep my mind open in therapy in hope of creating emotional space for my clients to grow, explore, and change.
