Whether you are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, have a loved one who shared their identity with you, or are questioning your identity, welcome. We are so grateful you are here.
At GBCC, we recognize the intricacies of living as part of the LGBTQ+ community in a society that upholds heteronormative values, and how this impacts finding quality care. GBCC is dedicated to creating a space that is intentional and welcoming of LGBTQ+ individuals and their loved ones. This includes affirming individual, family, and couples/relationship therapy services for clients of all ages.
For many LGBTQ+ folks, community connections are vital. We offer rotating group therapy opportunities with a focus on community support for LGBTQ+ individuals. Check out our groups page here to see what we are currently offering and for more information.
If you are exploring gender-affirming medical care, providers may request letters from a mental health provider for gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) or gender-affirming surgeries. Our therapists have years of experience and specialized training in WPATH’s Standards of Care including letter writing. Depending on where you are in the process, we can also provide helpful resources and referrals to local affirming medical providers.
Our affirming care team is made up of therapists and PMHNPs from the LGBTQ+ community and active allies. Our therapists have expertise in many areas, including anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, and more. While many people identify identity exploration as a major focus of their therapeutic goals, many do not, and our therapists can support your goals while keeping in mind the intersectionality of identity.
