Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical / Pronouns: She/Her
Aminah is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Baltimore native with over 20 years of experience in individual and family counseling. She attended Loyola University where she majored in Psychology and minored in Creative Writing and she earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work.
As a therapist, Aminah believes her role is to honor a client’s lived experiences and to guide them into a place of healing by processing their pain and finding ways to overcome their worries and fears. She does this by being a compassionate listener, working from a strengths-based perspective, and identifying maladaptive thought patterns that create obstacles in someone’s life.
Aminah has helped individuals dealing with trauma, depression, stress, anxiety, and difficult life transitions, and she specializes in issues related to chronic illness and grief and loss. She works with clients ages 18 and up and has an eclectic and holistic approach to therapy that is heavily based in cognitive behavioral interventions and mindfulness.
