Hi, my name is Kai (they/them). I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults in the areas of adjustments/life transitions, anxiety, depression, LGBT affirming care, and sexuality. I also have experience working with acute mental health crises in an inpatient setting. I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to therapy and encourage working collaboratively with my clients. I draw primarily from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
In my free time, I enjoy sewing and listening to music as well as spending time with my cat.
