Licensed Master Social Worker / Pronouns: He/Him

Welcome! I am Nick (he/him) and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Maryland. I believe that life can be complicated, filled with so many trying situations filled with grief, trauma, distress, and anxiety. Joining therapy and establishing a therapeutic relationship with a clinician can be difficult as well, but so important to one’s well being. I recognized early on that the most important thing to therapy is the trust, empathy, open mindedness, as well as an open heart, that a therapist can offer to their clients. Regardless of the education of the therapist, a listening ear and empathic heart are often what are needed to help.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Social Work (BSW) in 2019 and worked primarily with children and families involved in the child welfare system within rural communities during the height of the pandemic. I also interned under a hospice social worker, worked as a family-based therapist, as well as in residential settings. Being from Pittsburgh, Mr. Fred Rogers was a deep inspiration for my intent to help families and children work through tough situations and emotions. I am a recent graduate of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, School of Social Work where I continued to cultivate my clinical experiences through working with reentering citizens from the carceral system as well as working on an inpatient psychiatric unit. So, I have heard it all!

I primarily utilize strengths-based and humanistic perspectives, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help foster positive self-image, strength in the midst of suffering, and a motivation for wellbeing, yet also not neglecting the trauma and societal issues that influence these. In my free time, I enjoy collecting (more like hoarding!) books, spending time with my two cats and fiancé, and listening to all genres of music. I am happy to see you and hope to help you take steps to becoming the best version of yourself!
