Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and I graduated from Loyola University Maryland with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology in 2011 and joined GBCC in 2013. My work has involved crisis care, hospital care, and outpatient counseling as well as program management.

As a therapist, I find it important to be both direct and empathetic to help clients with their challenges. In addition to this, I hope to help clients gain practical skills while exploring things they may not have been comfortable looking at before entering counseling. I use an integrated treatment approach combining cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic theories while focusing on the importance of interpersonal relationships, coping, motivation, and physical well being. I  specialize in men’s issues and also have specialized training in treating trauma including EMDR therapy.

The majority of my practice focuses on working with law enforcement, military, and other first responders. I work closely with the Anne Arundel County Police Department with training and consultation on officer wellness, resiliency, and peer support as well as Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) and other mental health training geared towards law enforcement. I am a member of the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) with extensive training and experience in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM).
